Our specialty is often overlooked in team meetings, written materials, and budgets, yet we are the glue that holds diabetes and cardiometabolic care together. In this session, three diabetes physician champions discuss how DCESs can have a conversation with health care teams about their broader role and value in a variety of settings. The panelists will share ideas for how we can move away from a narrowly focused image of DCESs as providing only “glucose-centric” care. DCESs will learn how to gain recognition as the necessary agents for collaborative care across specialties.
