Treatment of peripheral neuropathy can be complex and ineffective regardless of the use of medications approved by the FDA. People with diabetes and their clinicians may become frustrated with current therapy options and are looking for new choices. With the increasing availability of medical cannabis, clinicians may be approached about the effectiveness and use of this alternative therapy. This session will discuss the controversies and current realities for the use of medical cannabis and other cannabinoids in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy. The intent is for clinicians to be able to discuss this as an option in an unbiased way.
