S12B - Examine App-Based Therapy with CDCES and Behavioral Support for People with T1D Using MDI

Research has shown that significant improvements in glycemic outcomes can be achieved when certified diabetes care and education specialists (CDCES) and behavioral health professionals provide coaching to people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). However, the scalability of these interventions is complicated by the high cost and resources required to provide CDCES and behavioral health support. We developed an intervention called App-Based CDCES Therapy (AB-CDE Therapy) that uses an app (DailyDose) along with CDCES and behavioral health support for those not meeting glycemic targets with the app alone. We anticipate that this intervention will allow CDCES-based and behavioral health coaching to be an integral and scalable component of T1D treatment. Authors: Leah M.
