As CDCESs, our role is to advocate for persons with diabetes (PWD) for full access to evidence-based care, including medications, monitoring devices, insulin delivery devices, and DSMES services. Advocating for PWD to gain access to evidence-based care requires CDCESs to stay up to date on state and federal legislation that impacts diabetes care coverage, as well as to be knowledgeable on current coverage programs. This session helps CDCESs increase their advocacy knowledge and skills so they can more effectively advocate for PWD to have access to evidence-based care with reasonable costs.
