Increasing use and access to diabetes technology by persons with diabetes creates challenges when those individuals require care in the inpatient setting. Diabetes care and education specialists working with multidisciplinary teams can advocate for the continued use of diabetes technology when appropriate during hospitalization and work within the health system to design workflows that promote safety. This session will review current literature that supports inpatient use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors and share strategies to ensure successful and safe use in the hospital setting.
