Diabetes care guidelines are evolving to consider the person holistically and tailor treatment plans based on cardiometabolic conditions people with diabetes may have or be at risk for. Healthcare organizations are establishing Cardiometabolic Centers where multispecialty teams work together to provide the best, customized evidence-based care. Clinicians with CDCES and BC-ADM certifications and other diabetes care and education specialists are vital members of this system. This session will discuss how recognition of shifting cardiometabolic care guidelines and the importance of facilitating holistic, patient-centered care helps attendees optimize their skills and knowledge and also helps them bulletproof their future career relevance.
