School nurses, diabetes care providers, and families provide support for students with diabetes at school to ensure safe and equitable learning environments. Students with diabetes often spend significant time in the health room managing glycemic fluctuations which results in profound missed class time and learning opportunities for students, increased diabetes distress for students and caregivers, and increased reteaching time for teachers. Advancement of CGM and AID systems provides an opportunity for teachers, school administrators, school nurses, and diabetes care providers to collaborate to explore strategies to increase learning and peer engagement for students with diabetes.
