Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome is defined as a health disorder attributable to connections among obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). CKM syndrome was first defined in an October 2023 presidential advisory and scientific statement by the American Heart Association and includes those at risk for CVD as well as those with existing CVD. This session provides an overview of CKM syndrome and will highlight the newly defined stages, how to assess risk factors, and how to screen for them. Attendees will gain knowledge on approaches to the prevention and management of CKM syndrome.
