Approaches to managing lipids and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk reduction in people with diabetes can be challenging. Statins are the cornerstone of lipid management, though with several non-statin therapies now available, it may be difficult to understand when a particular agent is warranted. Recent evidence suggests a benefit on residual ASCVD risk reduction with several novel non-statin therapies. This session will explore the use of non-statin therapies by examining clinical trial evidence and the practical use of these therapies with people with diabetes.
