Optimal Diabetes management requires not just attention, but compassion and empathy. But the CDC estimates that ~46% of health care workers struggled with burnout in 2022, and we know objectively that burnout decreases empathy. How can we provide the care we intend, and patients need, if we are not well ourselves?

Mindfulness and compassion practices offer evidence-based tools to be taught, practiced and lived. Mindfulness and compassion practices provide a tangible route to reduce our stress and anxiety as providers, improve our relationships with patients, and provide a higher quality of life for both patient and provider.
