P302 - Decoding Diabetes: A Comprehensive Workshop for Medical Residents

Effective diabetes management requires mastering numerous practical skills, yet medical residents may feel underprepared in these critical competencies. This poster describes the design and results of an interactive diabetes workshop aimed at boosting medical residents' skills and confidence. Through collaboration between a diabetes care and education specialist and the medicine department, the workshop boosted residents' hands-on abilities and self-assuredness in key areas: glucose monitoring (checking levels, interpreting logs), insulin administration (pens, vials, adjustments), continuous glucose monitoring, and foot exams. The workshop's training model offers an engaging approach for enhancing primary care providers' skillsets and instilling confidence to optimally manage diabetes.
