P226 - Increasing Continuous Glucose Monitoring Access and Uptake in Community Health Center

Disparities in health outcomes exist in adult Hispanics with type 1 diabetes (T1D). While continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) may mitigate these inequities, Hispanic patients have low uptake of CGM. Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), attentive to the social determinants of health (SDOH) in their patient populations, may play a key role in fostering the uptake of CGM in adult Hispanics with T1D. This poster shares research that addresses the gap of low CGM uptake in Hispanic adults with type 1 diabetes. The authors share their qualitative research results about the social determinants of health that are related to CGM uptake in dyads of Hispanic adults and their families or friends who received care in an FQHC. This study was conducted in preparation for a randomized control trial.
