P220 - Facilitating the NC Minority Diabetes Prevention Program in Rural Eastern North Carolina

Under the North Carolina Department of Health Equity, ENC Prevent Diabetes comprises eleven rural Eastern North Carolina sites that offer the state-funded NC Minority Diabetes Prevention Program (NCMDPP). Historically Marginalized Populations have higher rates of type 2 diabetes. NCMDPP targets marginalized populations, requiring 75% of program participants to identify as members of a racial/ethnic minority. This poster describes how implementing the CDC's evidence-based Prevent T2 curriculum benefits this group of participants.
