P209 - The Culture CAPABLE Framework for Developing Online CGM Education Materials for Pediatric T2D

Latino youth with type 2 diabetes (T2D) are at increased risk of developing disease-associated complications due to several factors, including lack of medication taking, genetics, and psychosocial barriers. Despite evidence demonstrating continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) benefits, CGM uptake in youth with T2D remains low. This poster discusses the stepwise approach used by a children’s hospital to create culturally relevant educational materials on CGM for Latino youth with T2D. Attendees will learn how an evidence-based framework on cultural adaptation guided the youth-centered design of a four-week online program aimed at teaching glucose management via CGM.
