P237 - The Cumulative Impact of Neuropathies on Daily Living: Opportunities to Interrupt the Trajectory

The impact that unmanaged blood glucose has on blood vessels and nerve damage is widely appreciated. Usually, these neuropathies are recognized as advanced disease progression in patterns (ie: distal symmetric or treatment induced- hands/feet or autonomic (organ involvement). This poster outlines how diabetes neuropathy is not a single entity, but encompasses a wide spectrum of neurological involvement, including vision, hearing, balance, hand dexterity, and cognition. The authors share screening tools and multidisciplinary cost-efficient interventions to positively impact the varying unappreciated burdens of daily patient self-management in those experiencing neuropathies.
