P614 - Tropical Escape Room: Revitalizing Diabetes and Hospital Policy Knowledge for Inpatient Nursing Teams

It can be challenging to update frontline staff annually on current diabetes care practices and policies in the hospital setting. As content experts, the inpatient CDCES team can be instrumental in providing refresher education through novel methods such as theme-based Escape Rooms. Escape Rooms have been found to enhance learning, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. They can be an impactful and memorable educational strategy for nurse engagement. This poster describes one academic medical center's Escape Room event and lessons learned for future consideration.
