P522 - Weight Loss Effects of Digital Diabetes Prevention Programs: A Systematic Review

In thinking about the National DPP and its intriguing evidence base for diabetes delay/prevention, it is challenging to consider changes to delivery mode, structure, and time frame, and yet, recruitment and retention difficulties have prevailed. Considering diverse models of care and delivery may be warranted to address these challenges. This poster describes a modified Cochrane systematic review to explore and report evidence and gaps in the literature for the effects of digitally-delivered DPP on the National DPP weight loss goal (5%). A search and review of the literature describing digital delivery modes used in DPP programs was conducted for experimental design studies that included average cohort weight loss percentage as a primary target outcome. With the recent shift to and continued future of the evolution of digital healthcare that should be studied further, implications for modern, technologically updated delivery modes for DPP may provide a portion of these solutions and increase access/reduce health disparities for those who need it most. The authors share the need for future research in general and a look at the time frame and digital mode for full delivery of the DPP specifically.
