P514 - Integration of Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Patients at a Federal Correctional Complex

The Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Butner has 262 patients with diabetes who are followed in a pharmacist-led comprehensive diabetes management clinic. Newer diabetes technologies including continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) have become the standard of care for patients with diabetes. This poster describes how CGM devices were implemented at FCC Butner for patients in the comprehensive diabetes management clinic to align with current standards of care. The authors share the challenges that were overcome for the successful implementation of CGM in a correctional setting and how the success of this rollout has been key in obtaining support from national stakeholders for the integration of CGM devices throughout the Bureau of Prisons.
