P409 - Experiences Utilizing CGM of Patients with Diabetes Meta-Integration through Meta-Ethnography

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has become widely used for people with diabetes(PWD) and is effective for blood glucose management. It has been reported that PWD may be overwhelmed by all the information from the CGM and frustration due to frequent hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia alerts. People also feel self-blame and a sense of psychological burden when blood glucose results are unsatisfactory. However, it is not clear what support is effective. Therefore, nurses must understand the PWD's experience to provide effective care. This poster outlines a qualitative study of adults with T2D that synthesized their perceptions and psychological experiences. The study used meta-ethnography to identify the core of patient education and support needed to utilize CGM from the PWD experience and to develop education and support utilizing CGM programs.
