The daily demands of living with diabetes can create a psychological burden leading to diabetes distress or burnout. The overwhelming feelings of fear, worry, denial, anxiety, frustration, and discouragement are often mistaken for depression or noncompliance by healthcare providers. This poster addresses the psychological and emotional impact of living with diabetes, available screening tools to assist in identifying individuals at risk, the use of the DDS-17 screening tool, as well as the outcomes and interventions for individuals screened.
