When a child is diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, the entire family is affected. Parents are responsible for the blood sugars of their child 24 hours per day. Parents without a child with diabetes often don’t understand what goes into taking care of a child with diabetes. Similarly, children and teens who are diagnosed with diabetes feel alone and that no one understands what they go through. This poster discusses how bringing families together facilitates networking among parents going through similar journeys with diabetes and shows children and teens with diabetes they are not alone.
