Research supports the benefit of children/adolescents attending diabetes camps for social and emotional support which can lead to better diabetes acceptance and management. Parents also need support to feel less isolated in taking care of their child(ren) with diabetes. This poster reviews how using a high-impact cooperative approach to deliver camps for children, teens, and families with diabetes utilizing a university campus with support from the university and students provides a cost-effective and educational opportunity for establishing a year-round camping experience for children and families.
