Diabetes mellitus (DM) has become a health problem reaching alarming levels worldwide; more than half a billion people live with diabetes. Acute complications including hypoglycemia, pseudo hypoglycemia, and hyperglycemia cause weakness, ketoacidosis, sweating, loss of consciousness, convulsions, cardiorespiratory arrest, and even death, if not quickly identified.
