Diabetes affects millions of people worldwide. One emerging area of interest is the connection between diabetes and vitamin D. Studies have found an association between vitamin D deficiency and an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Minorities and people of color are at a higher risk for vitamin D deficiency. This session discusses the connection between diabetes and vitamin D for potential risk reduction in the development of T2D. Attendees can use this information to assist their clients in reaching optimal vitamin D levels.
